Josh’s childhood was marked by love and family.
From the moment he was born, Josh’s life was a miracle. He survived long odds to live but grew up to be six foot four. The day his sister was born was one of the proudest moments of his life. As a kid he was always surrounded by his friends specifically his lifelong best friend Dylan, with whom he spent a lot of time growing up and into his adult life. He loved playing sports—football, basketball, baseball—jumping over the neighbor’s fence to hang out with Dylan, riding bikes through the neighborhood, and messing around with his cousins, usually at his Grandparents’ house. He spent the most time with his Grandparents and his sister, who he loved so deeply, usually showing it by throwing things at her or putting her in a headlock. He was a goofball as a kid, and never grew out of it.
Josh was known for his radiant smile, infectious laugh, and his unconditional love for others.
His presence was magnetic, he had a rare gift for making everyone around him feel important to him. Generous with both his time and his heart, he gave freely to others without ever expecting anything in return. His hugs were unforgettable, his laughter contagious, and his smile could light up any room.
In 2021, he married Angelica, the love of his life, and together they built a beautiful life alongside their four beloved dogs. Josh was truly the life of the party and found joy in the simple things—whether he was hunting, fishing, tending to his lawn and plants, spending time in his garage, or meticulously detailing his truck. He never let the small things weigh him down and inspired everyone around him to embrace life to the fullest, something he unquestionably did throughout his 26 years. He was stubborn, sarcastic, and funny. Josh also loved a good cigar; you could often find him in his garage enjoying one on Friday and Saturday nights listening to his favorite music.
Josh left his mark on everyone he met.
He trusted God and did not worry about what was to come. He displayed strength, courage, kindness, and humility. He had a deep yet simple understanding of what’s important in life—faith, family, friends—and cherished greatly time spent with those he loved. He was slow to judge and quick to forgive, and above all steadfastly loved others. He didn’t vocalize his emotions that often, but you could tell he loved and cared about you immensely just by the way he was. Josh was a true collector of people, a quality beautifully reflected by the standing-room-only crowd at his memorial service. He had a remarkable ability to bring together people from every walk of life and could strike up a conversation with anyone, turning strangers into friends within moments.
He was, and continues to be, deeply loved, profoundly missed, and forever cherished.
